Maria joined Morguard in 1990 and has taken on progressively senior roles in IT. As Chief Information Officer, Maria is responsible for developing the IT vision and leading her team in executing on the vision. She has been successful in using technology as an enabler to transform and grow the organization over the past two decades to achieve client success and profitability.
Maria is a graduate of McMaster University. She was named to the Top 35 People to Watch by Realcomm in 2005. Maria is a member of the CIO Executive Council, the CIO Association of Canada and the Oracle Real Estate User Executive Committee. She is also an active participant of Realcomm, IT World Canada and IT in Canada.
Tullio Capulli Vice President, Property Management, Office and Industrial, Central Region Morguard Investments Limited
Tullio assumed his current role in 1998 and is responsible for leasing and property management for a 14-million-square-foot portfolio of office and industrial properties. Tullio is a Morguard veteran, having been with the company for 31 years and previously serving as Divisional Manager and Comptroller. Tullio has extensive skills and experience in negotiation, finance, organization and presentation, as well as general management.
Tullio holds BA and BBA degrees from York University. Tullio is a Member of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors. He is also active in the mentoring program at York University.
Ken Cowan Vice President, Risk Management and National Programs Morguard Investments Limited
Ken is responsible for facilitating strategic national property management initiatives and overseeing the risk and environmental management procedures of the Morguard portfolio in major centres across Canada. After joining Morguard in 1997, Ken acted as Vice President, Operations before assuming his current responsibilities.
Since entering the real estate industry in 1990, Ken has been involved in the acquisition, leasing and management of office, industrial and retail properties throughout Canada. Immediately prior to joining the company, he was the controller and CFO of a national real estate asset management company. During his 22 years in the real estate industry, Ken has worked with numerous pension fund industry advisory companies. Ken holds a BMath from the University of Waterloo. He is a Member, Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability Committee, Real Property Association of Canada, and a Member of the Building Owners and Managers Association.
Glenn Featherstone Vice President, Retail Leasing Morguard Investments Limited
At Morguard, Glenn directs the leasing and lease administration function for 48 retail properties representing more than 13 million square feet and more than 400 deals per annum. He leads a group of more than 25 people, including some of Canada's most senior dealmakers, in the development and implementation of property-specific strategies designed to optimize market positioning and value.
Glenn began his real estate career providing strategic location analysis, planning and execution for a major Canadian bank. Over the last 25 years, Glenn has worked throughout Canada, the northeastern United States and California in a range of roles, with an emphasis on identifying and executing real estate strategies with both operational and asset optimization objectives. Glenn has been directly responsible for completing development and leasing deals for the cinema industry, the hard goods industry and numerous fashion concepts on behalf of both tenants and landlords.
Glenn holds a BA from Carleton University and an MA from York University.
Mark Holden Vice President, Asset Management, Office and Industrial Morguard Investments Limited
Mark is responsible for the asset management of Morguard's office and industrial properties in Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal, which are valued at over $1.8 billion. Since joining Morguard in 1998, Mark has managed the assets in the office portfolio in Toronto, as well as office and industrial properties in Ottawa and Montreal. He was promoted to Director, Asset Management in 2005 before assuming his current role.
Immediately before joining Morguard, Mark was the Manager of Acquisitions of a publicly traded international real estate developer-owner. He entered the real estate industry in 1993 as a real estate analyst with the office division of National Real Estate Company, gaining broad exposure to office leasing, property management, appraisals, development analysis and office markets across Canada and in several U.S. cities. Mark holds an MBA from Queen's University and a BA in economics from the University of Western Ontario.
Sham Jamal Vice President, Asset Management Retail Morguard Investments Limited
Sham is responsible for the asset management of a retail portfolio with a value in excess of $1 billion. Sham has spent more than 23 years with Morguard in prior roles in appraisals and asset management. Sham's 40 years of industry experience have been applied to the repositioning of major assets, through renovation, expansion, densification, re-merchandising and rezoning efforts. His earlier real estate industry experience includes service with Bosley Farr Schaufler, Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan and CIBC.
Sham holds the designation of MRICS, and has a postgraduate diploma in urban regional planning. Sham was a member of a University of British Columbia panel that developed a paper on the role of real estate in pension fund investment. Sham was a Member on the Canadian Institute of Public Real Estate Companies subcommittee reviewing valuation standards. Sham has served as a volunteer with World Partnership Walk, Willowdale Legal Aid Clinic and with Afghan refugee settlement in Canada. Sham was a long standing Member on the Brampton downtown and Queen Street Advisory Board and is now on BRAC committee which is working on strategy to Attract and Retain Businesses to Brampton.
Tom Johnston Vice President, Property Management, Office and Industrial, Western Region Morguard Investments Limited
Tom assumed his current role in 2001 and is responsible for the operations and leasing of Morguard's managed office and industrial portfolio in Western Canada. He oversees the regional offices in Winnipeg, Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver, which are responsible for delivering the property management functions to Morguard-managed assets. Tom also provides input on the acquisition of assets located in Western Canada.
Tom began his real estate career as a commercial sales agent and has been with Morguard for 21 years, during which he has held a number of increasingly senior positions. Tom holds Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Commerce degrees from University of Alberta. He is a Director, Building Owners and Managers Association of British Columbia and is active in the community as a Head Coach in minor hockey.
Ed Lincz Vice President, Retail Operations Morguard Investments Limited
Ed is responsible for the property management of a retail portfolio located in major centres across Canada with the goal of maintaining the physical buildings and systems to company standards and increasing the portfolio's market value and operating income to market benchmarks. He also oversees the national marketing program, national specialty leasing program and retail tenant coordination.
Ed started his career with Morguard as Director of Retail Operations for Eastern Canada in 2006. He has 10 years of experience with both Cambridge Shopping Centres Ltd., and Cadillac Fairview Limited, where he progressed in his career as general manager at various types of shopping centres. He started in the real estate industry in 1986. Ed is a Member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and is active in the Coast to Coast Against Cancer Foundation.
Robert B. McFarlane Vice President, Internal Audit Morguard Investments Limited
Robert has been in his current role since 2005 and is responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting, to provide independent assurance for the public entity's CFO and the Chairman's certification of internal control effectiveness to the Ontario Securities Commission. Robert also serves as a project champion for Morguard's enterprise risk management programs.
Robert brings more than 25 years of industry experience to Morguard. He previously served as accounting manager at OMERS, where he was responsible for reporting the results of the real estate, private equity and infrastructure groups. Other appointments include TrizecHahn and Trizec Corporation. Robert completed Strategic Risk Management, an MBA-level exam course, at Edinburgh Business School. He also holds an MBA from Edinburgh Business School and three other accreditations: CPA (Colorado), CGA and ACCA (UK Chartered Certified Account).
Kenneth R. Moffat Vice President, Asset Management Morguard Real Estate Investment Trust
Ken Moffat joined Morguard REIT as Vice President, Asset Management in April 2006. Ken has worked with the Morguard group of companies since August 1998. Ken has been focused on the retail sector, most recently as Vice President, Retail Property Management with responsibilities for retail properties managed by Morguard Investments Limited in Western Canada. Before that, he held progressively senior positions in acquisitions & dispositions, retail leasing, and finance with two national real estate owner/managers.
Ken is registered as a real estate broker and a mortgage broker in Ontario, has an MBA, and is a Chartered Accountant. He has completed the Facilities Management Administrator (FMA) & Real Property Administrator (RPA) designations awarded by the Building Owners and Managers Institute (BOMI).
Nancy Rusk Vice President, Human Resources Morguard Investments Limited
Nancy has overall responsibility for human resources, including payroll, for the approximately 1,300 employees in the Morguard group of companies. She is responsible for strategy and the implementation of programs and processes to allow the human resources functions to align people and organizational programs with Morguard's strategic business objectives.
Nancy began at Morguard as a human resources generalist in 1992 and has taken on additional responsibilities as Manager and Director of Human Resources. Before joining Morguard, Nancy served with the University Hospital Network Health Network as a compensation analyst. Nancy is a Certified Human Resources Professional and a Member of the Human Resources Committee, REALpac. Nancy is also a long-time supporter of the Hospital for Sick Children, United Way and Covenant House.
Angela Sahi Vice President, Corporate Development Morguard Corporation
Angela Sahi began as Vice President Corporate Development at Morguard Corporation in 2005. Angela has responsibility for performing strategic evaluation of potential U.S. acquisitions and market analysis to identify performance characteristics and business opportunities. Prior to joining Morguard, Angela was a Consultant with both Ernst & Young’s Real Estate Advisory Group and Business Risk Services Group. She also worked in Ernst & Young’s Audit and Tax groups. Angela has a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) and Gold Medal from the University of Western Ontario and holds a Certified Public Accountant designation.
John Talano Vice President, Property Management–U.S. Morguard Management Company Inc.
John is the Vice President of Morguard Management Company Inc., and is responsible for Morguard's U.S. residential and retail portfolios, including property management, asset management, operations, acquisitions, development and construction. John began his career at Morguard in 2006 as Vice President Residential of Morguard's U.S. holdings. He started his career in real estate in 1997, working on his own multi-family residential projects. He formally began his career in the profession in 2001, working with Trammell Crow Residential.
John holds a bachelor's degree from Purdue University in industrial engineering/technology and an MBA from Tulane University's A.B. Freeman School of Business. John is a Member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, and Member of the National Apartment Association. His community involvement includes donating regularly to American Veterans, the American Heart Association and Benjamin Franklin, a New Orleans public high school.
Art Tallis Vice President, Property Management, Office and Industrial, Eastern Region Morguard Investments Limited
Arthur is responsible for the property management and leasing services of an office/industrial portfolio located in Montreal and Ottawa and valued in excess of $1.1 billion. He joined Morguard in 1979 and acted as the Regional Controller British Columbia before assuming his current responsibilities. Since entering the real estate industry in 1979, Arthur has been involved in the acquisition, development, leasing and management of office, industrial, retail and residential properties throughout Canada.
Arthur obtained accounting and finance diplomas from Algonquin College. He is a real estate broker and mortgage broker, (licensed by the) Real Estate Council of Ontario and a Member of the Building Owners and Managers Association.
