Global warming is now the greatest threat the World has ever faced. At 8 p.m. on March 29th, 2008, cities across the world will turn off their lights for one hour, sending a powerful global message that it is possible to take action on global warming.

Morguard supports and understands the importance of this environmental initiative and is pleased to announce that we will be participating in Earth Hour, Canada wide, across our portfolio.

What are we doing?

Where possible, Morguard’s properties will be turning off all non-essential lighting and signage. Emergency lighting and security systems will remain on as normal. To communicate this message, various forms of media will be distributed to our tenants and customers and ask for their participation at work and at home.

What can you do?

Although Earth Hour takes place on a Saturday, you can still take part. We ask that you turn off your computers, monitors and lights in your workspace before you leave at the end of the day on Friday, March 28th. Similarly, at home, we encourage you to turn off your lights and refrain from using household appliances and electronics and water during Earth Hour.

Turning the lights off for Earth Hour is a great first step, but if you really want to see a difference, make Earth Hour part of your everyday life.

We invite you to send feedback and ideas on what Morguard can do to reduce energy emissions in our workplace. Please send your feedback and questions to greenlink@morguard.com
