honoured to receive the award in recognition of the Mississauga team’s hard
work and commitment to management excellence,” said Tullio Capulli, Vice

demonstrates the commitment of the Mississauga team to continually collaborate
and engage with stakeholders, tenants and communities. Built in 1972, the office complex was
able to prevail over newer competition through innovative sustainability
programs and investment in green-focused retrofits.
programs implemented at the properties in 2018 include:
Continuing conversion of interior and exterior lighting to low-energy LEDs
Partnership with urban waste hauler, allowing conversion of compactor units to 100% recycling and reducing the transportation to landfills
Conversion to low-flow water fixtures
Rain sensors on the irrigation system at MCC properties to reduce wasted water during rainy days
Enhancing tenant communication and engagement programs, including Morguard Green Link, to promote, support and encourage sustainable practices
TOBY is the
most prestigious and comprehensive program of its kind in the commercial real
estate industry, recognizing quality in commercial properties and rewarding
excellence in building management. TOBY winners are recognized in specific
categories of building size or type. Judging is based on a thorough
investigation on building standards, community impact, tenant relations, energy
conservation, environmental, regulatory and sustainability, emergency
preparedness and security standards, and the training of building personnel.
As a winner of
the Toronto TOBY award, the properties are eligible to enter the BOMA Canada
National Awards being held in September 2019. Congratulations to the MCC team!
