We’re excited to share that TELUS Garden Office is now officially Zero Carbon Building – Performance (ZCB-Performance) certified by the Canada Green Building Council (CAGBC). This certification confirms that the building operates with a verified low-carbon footprint and is well positioned for a net-zero carbon future.

Key Highlights:

• No On-Site Combustion: Heating is provided by a third-party (FAES) central plant using electric heat pumps, with supplemental steam from Creative Energy. No fossil fuels are burned on-site.
• Verified Emissions Tracking: We calculate a detailed annual carbon balance using energy data from TELUS Garden Office.
• Carbon Offsets: TELUS Garden purchases carbon offsets each year to balance emissions from electricity and district steam use.
• Grid-Aware Operations: We monitor peak electricity demand to help reduce strain on the grid as buildings move toward full electrification.

This certification is a strong step toward meeting our sustainability goals and demonstrates TELUS Garden’s leadership in low-carbon building operations.
