Morguard is pleased to announce that one of the company’s office property, Penn West Plaza (207 & 215 9th Ave SW), in Calgary, has been awarded a Gold Wired Certification from WiredScore. Wired Certification is a commercial real estate rating system that recognizes outstanding internet connectivity and digital infrastructure in commercial properties.
Morguard is pleased to announce that it has been named as one of Canada’s Safest Employers for the eighth consecutive year. This year’s recognition, an Excellence Award in the Services Sector category, is a testament of Morguard’s commitment to providing a safe and healthy workplace. The award recognizes a robust Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) strategy and the ability to adapt to the changing environment caused by the pandemic and evolve to meet new needs and parameters.
Morguard is very proud to announce that various Morguard media campaigns received two awards – gold and silver – at this year’s Canadian Public Relations Society’s Ace Awards. These media campaigns were prepared and executed by Kaiser & Partners, whom the awards are shared with.  “We are delighted to receive these awards acknowledging our efforts,” said Susanne DesRochers, Director, Corporate Marketing. These awards demonstrate the team’s ongoing contributions to the organization and how our efforts are helping to move business objectives forward.
Morguard is thrilled to announce that Lawson Heights Mall in Saskatoon, SK has been awarded the BOMA Regina Earth Award, Enclosed Shopping Centre – Silver for their amazing sustainability efforts. The BOMA Earth Awards recognizes excellence in resource preservation and environmentally sound commercial building management. “We are very grateful to receive this award in recognition of our ongoing efforts towards environmental and sustainable excellence,” said Tammy Abbott, Operations Manager, Lawson Heights Mall.
For the eighth consecutive year, Morguard has been recognized by the International Council of Shopping Centres (“ICSC”) for excellence in marketing campaigns that elevate the shopping experience and connect with their surrounding communities. At the annual ICSC awards, held virtually this year, Morguard added seven MAXI Awards and three Visual Victories Award to its achievements. “We are thrilled to receive this recognition for the best-in-class retail experience provided at our centres,” said Ed Lincz, Vice President, Retail Property Management, Morguard.
Bees play a crucial role in our ecosystem. One third of what we eat relies on pollination by bees. That is why Morguard is taking action and including them in our sustainability efforts. We have partnered with Alvéole, urban beekeeping specialists, and incorporated beehives, naturalized gardens, and bee-hotels at our various properties across Canada, so we can have a positive impact on the bee community.
